Subliminal
Background: Subliminal approaches have been a mainstay in the world of advertising. Though I haven’t been particularly interested in this topic of advertising, I believe that it is important to feature a few of these ads, especially as many reflect a sexual or gendered form of subliminal technique. The Ads: At this time, I am featuring a few ads that reflect subliminal techniques. Discussion Questions: (1) To what extent do forms of subliminal advertising play a role in our consumer society? (2) Why is it that many subliminal techniques reflect gendered or sexual approaches?
